Way back in Feb 2004, we wrote a newsletter entitled “Myths, Misconceptions and Misrepresentations” (you can read it by clicking here). We think it is about time we took a more positive attitude. So here are some:
Truths You Can Take To The Bank
1. There is no such thing as 0% interest financing.
2. A FREE furnace or air conditioner costs somebody, something and you can bet it is not the seller.
3. Professional Integrity (Quality) is always the best value.
4. Compressor failure during the life cycle of the equipment is not normal.
5. Dirt is the leading cause of most major HVAC failures followed by lack of periodic maintenance.
6. A professional air conditioning company charges a fair rate all the time. Special rates, discounts, and winter/summer bargains are to be viewed with a jaundiced eye.
7. The basic way air conditioning is installed has not fundamentally changed very much in the last 30 years. There have been many ways found to install it cheaper, but only a few ways developed to install it better.
8. If you call the manufacturer of the equipment brand you wish to install, they usually won't refer you to any contractor whose work has caused them customer complaints.
9. It is difficult to compare apples to apples if you are comparing Granny Smith's to Macintosh. You must analyze every detail of what you are comparing. For instance, there is no such thing as low efficiency air conditioning systems.
10. If it's not in writing, it is not guaranteed to be installed.
11. Any repair made correctly will rarely fail within 1 year.
12. When you buy a house, the HVAC system does not have to perform to any specific heating or cooling
standards to pass inspection. It can be poorly designed and installed and pass a general inspection.
14. The way to be sure you “get what you pay for” is to do your homework before you make a major purchase.
15. It takes a very professional company to design and install a proper system to meet your exact requirements.
16. Lack of periodic maintenance is very expensive, resulting in high operating costs, premature breakdowns and inconvenience.
Climatemakers has felt from it’s inception over a half century ago, that keeping promises is an especially powerful form of telling the truth. If we say we will do something, we try our dead level best to do it.
If we promise to keep an appointment, we’ll be there. When we say we deliver high quality and value, we don't try to cut corners. No need for name calling but every one knows people who eagerly promise anything to a customer. They rarely remember what was promised, which is probably just as well because we doubt if they could have delivered it anyway.
Somewhere I read these wise words and I believe them: “Trust can be gained once and lost once. Once lost, it's lost forever.”
And please remember, if you have any questions about the HVAC system in your house; how we can be of better service to you, or about our web site, please email them to me. I'd like to hear from you and promise to respond promptly.
