HOT TIPS
(When its cold outside and its cold inside too!!) 
  • Is the thermostat set for heat (set point higher than room temperature)?

  •  
  • Is the emergency switch "on"?

  •  
  • Is the fuse blown or the circuit breaker tripped?

  •  
  • Is the fuel supply "on"?

  •  
  • Is the pilot lit (gas) ? Are you out of oil?

  •  
  • Is the filter clean? A dirty filter can cause unit to trip out on high limit. 

  •  
  • Is there a reset button on furnace? If so, reset it.

  •  
  • Are the supply registers open?

  •  
  • Is the return vent(s) unobstructed?

  •  
  •  Remove all flammable objects from around your furnace and water heater. Boxes, clothes, paints, aerosols, gasoline should not be stored in this area.

  •  
  • If the furnace and water heater are in an enclosed room or closet, be sure there is plenty of air for combustion.
