What’s the Big Deal About Ductless?
Ductless systems keep you comfortable without ductwork. A lot of problems can develop with ducts, and the maintenance they require is expensive. Ducts are notorious for developing leaks. A ductless mini-split is more energy-efficient than a ducted HVAC system, and removing ductwork from the equation has a lot to do with that.
Hello Savings, Goodbye Ducts
Energy Star informs us that up to 30 percent of conditioned air can be lost through ductwork leaks. Getting rid of ductwork gets rid of leaks. You can say goodbye to the expense and inconvenience of duct cleaning and sealing. You won’t have to worry about what’s lurking in your ducts and what it’s doing to your indoor air. As a Trane Comfort Specialist, we know the ins and outs of ductless systems and the best ways to repair, install, and maintain them for optimal energy-efficiency.
Custom Heating and Cooling
Ductless mini-splits have an outdoor unit and one or more wall-mounted indoor units. The outdoor unit delivers conditioned air straight to the indoor air handlers through tubing that connects the two units. Each indoor air handler heats or cools a particular area, so you can condition one room without conditioning the whole house. Each indoor unit is controlled by its own thermostat, so you can customize temperatures from room to room.
Energy Efficiency Saves Big Money
Ductless systems are essentially heat pumps without ducts, so they don’t heat your home with fuel. They extract heat from outdoor air and use it to warm your space. Heat in the air costs nothing, so your expenses are substantially less than they would be with a furnace. Ductless systems have high SEER ratings. SEER ratings measure the potential energy efficiency of an air conditioner. The highest SEER ratings for ductless mini-splits are from 33 to 38. By contrast, minimum SEER ratings must be at least 15.
